Main rotor blades - There are four main rotor blades that are positioned at a forward tilt for aerodynamics. That puts the rotor blades at their lowest point at the front of the aircraft and the safest approach from the sides (at the 3 & 9 o'clock positions). Use caution with wind as the blades may dip. Rotor wash can be significant around the perimeter of the aircraft.

Tail rotor - The tail rotor spins very fast and is difficult to see at night. Never pass around the rear of the aircraft.
